DE Description

Las Positas College typically off ers Distance Education (DE) classes in multiple formats: online (conducted over the internet either synchronously, asynchronously, or both), hybrid (conducted online and on-campus), and HyFlex (conducted online and on-campus with the student choosing which to attend). In addition to class meetings, class materials, and class activities being accessible online, DE classes make full use of interactive technologies, such as email, discussion boards, blogs, chat, and group assignments so students can stay connected with their instructors and their fellow students. 

Because Distance Education classes off er access to accommodate the varied lifestyles and learning styles of students, Las Positas College off ers an array of General Education (GE) classes, along with classes that lead to certifi cates and degrees, in this format. Th e classes are designed to be equivalent and comparable to their counterpart on-campus courses in quality, learning outcomes, special requirements, course fees, and credit. 

Current class off erings can be found in the Class Schedule and on the CLASS-Web webpage, both accessible from the College homepage at https://laspositascollege.edu. Students can enroll in these classes through the regular college registration process. Las Positas College also strives to off er equivalent [virtual] support services to online students as it does to on-campus students.
